MASON KERTH

“I never call myself a G.O.A.T. I leave that up to the people.”

Mortgage Man Mason is quite the personality at Weber Mortgage. Coming to Weber with 10 years of experience in marketing, advertising and sales, he brings his own unique sense of style to the mortgage industry. While most loan officers take photos at their closings with house keys or “sold” signs, Mason brings a cardboard cutout of a goat to his closings. Yes, you read that right.

After getting three kids ready for school every morning and dropping them off in the carpool line, his cell phone starts ringing, and from there it does not leave his ear. Aside from the cardboard goat cutout, what sets Mason apart is his 24/7 commitment to his clients. Whether he’s dining out with his friends or on

a weekend vacation, he will drop what he’s doing to get his clients’ questions answered and problems solved.

Mason came to Birmingham in 2005 as a result of Hurricane Katrina. However, when he evacuated to Alabama, he didn’t expect to stay here. Now, the New Orleans native and his wife are raising three children here, ages four, six and nine. While he certainly misses the Cajun cuisine of NOLA, he continues the tradition of the famous crawfish boil here in Alabama with his family.

When he’s not at the office or cruising around town in his camouflage Tesla, Mason enjoys drag racing and dirt biking, both of which his children have taken up as well. Both Mason and his children have won several competitions and have a dirt bike track in their own backyard.

JAY CLYCE

Born and raised in Hoover, Alabama, Jay has strong local roots and a passion for the Birmingham area. As an ambassador for the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce, he was recognized two years in a row as ambassador of the year and four years in a row as ambassador of the quarter. He prioritizes giving back to the community where he has resided his entire life. Growing up, he played football at W.A. Berry High School under Coach Bob Finley and was a member of the first graduating class of Hoover High School.

Upon graduating from Hoover, he followed in his father’s footsteps in attending The University of Alabama, where his daughter is now a third

generation UA student. Needless to say, Jay has a love for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and you can find him cheering on the Tide on Saturdays.

Jay has been a member of the team at Weber for over four years and has been working in the mortgage industry since 2004. He understands that every client is different, and he enjoys hearing the story behind why his clients want to purchase a home. The number one thing that Jay wants his clients to know is that he wants to be someone his clients can build a relationship with on many levels, whether it’s their personal values, association with business locally or sharing milestones in life along the road to home ownership.

When Jay is not working with his clients or volunteering locally, you can find him kayaking, golfing or fishing in his spare time. He also serves on the production ministry team at Hunter Street Baptist Church where he attends with his family.
